What Is Data Egress?

Data Egress is a paid feature in SysTrack that allows customers to securely export their data from report views and custom and system views directly into any enterprise data lake or warehouse, such as Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Amazon S3, or other centralized analytics platforms. This capability helps organizations integrate SysTrack data into their existing data ecosystems for advanced analytics, compliance, and governance.

With Data Egress, SysTrack becomes a foundational data source within your broader enterprise data ecosystem. Teams can:

  • Combine DEX telemetry with HR, financial, and operational datasets

  • Power advanced BI, AI, and machine learning initiatives

  • Meet regulatory, audit, and data retention requirements

  • Maintain full control and ownership of their data

Unlike dashboards, which provide visual insights within SysTrack, Data Egress enables automated, production-grade data delivery outside the platform. It uses a pull-based architecture, webhook notifications, and time‑bound retrieval URLs to ensure reliable, scalable access to large datasets while minimizing operational overhead.

Data Egress is built for enterprises that want to operationalize DEX data across the organization, not just view it.

How Data Egress Works

Data Egress automates the process of exporting SysTrack data on a schedule and notifying you when it’s ready:

  1. You configure exports (daily, weekly, or monthly).

  2. SysTrack estimates their size for you to control data usage.

  3. SysTrack processes exports automatically, optimized to run during off-hours to minimize impact.

  4. You receive a webhook notification when your dataset is ready.

  5. You can securely retrieve your data using time-bound download URLs.

Data Egress Limitations

  • Requires purchase of a data allowance for a defined contract period. This allowance is consumed as exports are generated.

  • When the purchased data limit is reached, no new exports can be scheduled, and configuration changes are disabled.

  • Export files are automatically deleted after 7 days.

  • Available data for export is limited to report views and custom and system views in SysTrack.
